Who we are
The Alabama Council of The American Institute of Architects (AIA) represents a membership of approximately 600 licensed architects, interns and affiliates. The primary goal of the Council is to promote the quality and practice of architecture. Chartered in 1916, the Alabama Council is a non-profit association.
The primary goal of the Alabama Council AIA is to promote unity among the architectural profession in the state.
With more than 600 architect and associate architect members, the Alabama Council AIA considers its members to be the lifeline of the organization. Without member support and participation the Council would not be successful; therefore, we pledge to do whatever it takes to serve members in the most effective and efficient manner possible.
Partnership w/ ByDesign
ByDesign is coming to AIA Alabama! We’re excited to announce that ByDesign, in partnership with AIA Alabama, will soon be filming episodes showcasing the innovative work of Alabama architects and their projects. Even better—there’s no cost for architects to participate!
America ByDesign is a TV series airing on CBS News Livestream and simulcasting on ten FAST Channels with the goal to bring greater visibility to showcase exceptional design principles, projects, materials and products.
